My name is Alexandra, and I am the founder of Aimébène Fragrances.

As a Black woman living in Montreal, I know how challenging seasonal changes can be—not only for our skin, but also for our overall well-being. Aimébène was born from my desire to celebrate and enhance the beauty of melanin-rich skin by restoring its radiance, elegance, and the sun-kissed glow we seek all year long, even during the coldest months.

The name Aimébène is a fusion of the French words aimer ("to love") and ébène ("ebony"), an ode to the richness and beauty of melanin-kissed complexions shaped by the sun. It also holds a deeply personal meaning, as my son's name is Eben.

Becoming a mother taught me how essential it is to make time for ourselves so that we can fully care for others. Over time, the world of fragrance became one of my greatest pleasures. This love for perfumery, combined with my desire to address the unique needs of melanin-rich skin in a northern climate, inspired me to create oils whose scents honour our roots, transport us elsewhere, and accompany us through every season with warmth, comfort, and confidence—without ever compromising our health or our environment.

In a world that never seems to slow down, I envisioned Aimébène as an invitation to pause, awaken your senses, breathe deeply, and reconnect with what truly moves you. Because beyond perfumery, my mission is to bring more self-love, confidence, gentleness, and self-compassion into your everyday life.
